TRAINING: WHAT IS A CLASS AT TERA?
The problem:
Tera is an EdTech that, from 2019 to 2020, went through an intense process of scale of its operations.
In this sense, the number of courses and classes offered grew, and the training of experts became a pain that prevented the scaling: It demanded a lot of effort on my part, who was the only Instructional Designer on the team, to follow all classes and evaluate the performance of the experts to guarantee the application of the methodology.

The solution:
Each person on the team was responsible for the operational coordination of a specific course and I realized that these team members were not empowered with the premises of the methodology to decide for themselves whether the performance of an expert was validated or not.
The solution was to develop an internal training for these people, giving clarifications on the points that would have to be taken into account to assess the quality of the expert's performance.
This training was composed of an interactive session of about 2 hours, where I built, together with the participants, the most relevant points for this validation and transformed them into "checklists" to support this process and the feedback they should give for the experts.
Details:
-
These training sessions were held monthly, as key part of the onboarding of new people on the team.
-
As these actions were established, support materials were developed that culminated in a complete process, both for people on the team to certify performance, and for experts to follow the pillars of the methodology with more assertiveness.
